As a student teacher at Cambridge Rindge and Latin School, I had the opportunity to teach in the ceramics room. We worked on a range of activities from coil pots to wheel throwing to carving into the clay. Clay allows for an infinite number of possibilities to be made from the same material, and students can have a tactile and challenging experience. Best of all, if your work isn’t turning out the way you want it to, you can smush it up, and start again!
